Enhancing user experience, fostering trust, and ultimately driving conversions for a fractional art investment platform.

In January 2024, I joined 10K Designers, an invite only UI/UX Design cohort, where I had to create or redesign a landing page for an early-stage startup. Our goal was to work on something that felt real, with a focus on visual design and problem-solving. I knew I wanted to design something memorable and visually appealing that effectively communicated the core offerings of the company. But first, I had to choose a business to work on.

Fractiv is a platform that democratises art investment, similar to owning fractional shares! Rather than purchasing an entire artwork, individuals can own a portion of high-value pieces and benefit from potential returns. Fractiv is making art investment more accessible and inclusive for a broader audience.

I was immediately drawn to Fractiv because of my fascination with art—whether it’s buying a t-shirt just for the Warhol pop art, spending hours watching art restoration videos, or collecting art pieces for my Animal Crossing museum. Plus, I've been learning about investment from my dad, so working on the Fractiv website felt like the ideal way to combine my passion for art with my growing interest in investing.

⚙️ Process

I divide the whole process into smaller tasks to organise my workflow and avoid getting overwhelmed. I kept things flexible, allowing me to make changes on the fly. This helped me tackle any challenges that came up without too much stress.

📈 Market Research

While digging around the internet, I learnt that art is widely viewed as a valuable investment. But the hefty costs of buying, insuring, and maintaining artworks often deter buyers.

The idea of fractional ownership is a game-changing solution—it lowers the financial barriers, making art investment more accessible. Plus, I noticed a growing interest in alternative investments, especially among younger, tech-savvy people looking to diversify their portfolios. So platforms like Fractiv are well-positioned to capture a big slice of this emerging market.
